What a week! Western Europe is covered in a volcanic, sulfuric cloud, possibly making air travel difficult for months, earthquakes shake the globe from China to Spain to Utah, and the event that truly made no sense and left us all shaking our heads at MullerOver headquarters, Andrew Garcia was voted off American Idol. So – on to the news!
In the prophetic words of Jerry Lee Lewis, “There’s a whole lotta shaking going on”
According to the LA Times, there’s been far more earthquakes in Southern California this year than any other year of the last decade – and it’s
only April! That’s not even counting the devastation in Haiti, Mexico, Chili and China recently. We consulted with our MullerOver on-staff geologist, Jacques, about what our readers could do to prepare for an earthquake. After seconds of deep thought, Jacques suggests wearing roller skates to minimize the effects of the shaking. Come to think of it – we’re not sure why we hired a geologist in the first place. In our defense, he does interview very well though.
Fire and Ice(land)
Again this week, poisonous, acidic hot air was spewed threatening to disrupt the globe. But enough about Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. There also was a volcano in Iceland.
On Wednesday, a volcano erupted in Iceland disrupting air travel worldwide. Perhaps more interesting, Iceland is actually land covered in ice. Who knew? And in a devastating blow to years of global warming, the volcano has the potential to cool the earth as did Mount Pinatubo in 1991 which cooled the entire planet by 0.9 of a degree.
In other reports, Al Gore, clearly upset that the a century of warming could so easily go down the drain, declared a war on volcanoes to prevent the imminent dangers of Global Cooling.
Andrew Garcia voted off American Idol
In another demonstration that the American Public has pretty odd taste in music, Andrew Garcia was voted off American Idol this week. Then again, this is the same population who for a very brief period of time thought Hannah Montana was talented. But far more importantly, just the mere mention of “American Idol” sends MullerOver.com flying up in the search engine rankings. And working in “Hannah Montana” into an article on American Idol might push us up ahead of cnn.com. One more thing to note: Dancing with the Stars. There – that ought to do it.
So, there’s the weekly wrap-up.
We leave you with one final note. As you’re in your job and having a tough day, maybe realizing that you’ve hired an idiot for a geologist on staff, and wonder what he’s been doing for the past six months. Well, we’re pretty sure you’ll never have a day at work like this guy did this week. Sometimes, the bull wins afterall.

I was in Oregon when Mount St. Helens blew. I was very glad I wasn’t any closer. It’s scary to see Mother Nature in action.
