In 2009, we saw a distinct need.  Our research director, Jimmie, spent weeks perusing the net and found that there was no web site that gave slightly outdated, pointless rants and musings on topics that few cared about.

It was one of those “A-HA!” moments that you read about from guys like Steve Jobs or Elmo.   Someone else read in a magazine that Internet sites were making boatloads of money, so we decided that we couldn’t lose.  Without hesitation, we cashed in our 401ks and leased the most expensive penthouse office suite on the 45th floor in Downtown Rochester, NY.

Well, it turns out, we grossly overestimated Jimmie’s search engine skills and the magazine promising Internet riches was from 1999 in a doctor’s office waiting room.  Apparently, there’s about 50 billion web sites with pointless musings.  Nevertheless, we signed a 20 year lease, so we figured we give this thing a go anyways.
